The "Gerzymisch Stiftung zur Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses im Bereich Übersetzen und Dolmetschen" was founded in 1996 in Saarbrücken with the aim to support measures for promoting young researchers in translation and interpreting.

The Foundation achieves its aims by

  • Promoting and financially supporting international translation and interpreting conferences
  • Supporting the participation of young researchers in international conferences
  • Supporting advanced training in translation and interpreting (research)
  • Supporting young researchers in the publication of their research projects and findings

  • Min Sunwoo/Bonn for finishing her dissertation on
    Operationalizing the Translation Purpose
  • Lihua Jiang/Saarland & Sichuan/China
    for starting her PhD on community interpreting at Saarland University

The Foundation supported young researchers attending international workshops and conferences, including Monika Kusztor (GAL Conference 2000), Young-Jee Kim (Gal Conferences 2003, lectures and seminars at Aarhus Business School 2004), Jan Kunold (Monterey/Cal. MIIS 5oth Anniversary Conference 2005)

The Foundation supports research into Multidimensional Translation, MuTra publications and advanced training.
